Afghanistan's Batikot to produce 2,100 tons of tangerines

Producers in the Batikot district in Afghanistan are expected to produce 2,100 tons of tangerines. This is a higher yield due to efforts to increase production.

The Canal Department has established over 2 428 hectares of tangerine orchards to increase the yield of the fruit. The focus is also on good maintenance that leads to higher yields. Tangerines sold locally for up to $4.5 per kg and has now increased to $7.9 per kg.
