La Libertad leads exports of avocados, blueberries and asparagus

La Libertad is a region in northwestern Peru. Between January and September of this year, Peruvian avocado exports totaled US$911 million, of which La Libertad shipped US$299 million, representing 32.82% of the total. As for blueberries, shipments totaled US$772 million, of which US$424 million were from La Libertad, concentrating 54.92%.

Between January and September 2022, non-traditional agricultural exports from Peru reached US$5,899 million, which represented a growth of 11% compared to the same period in 2021 (US$5.313 million) and 31.9% higher than the same months of 2020 (US$4.471 million).

Regarding the destinations of non-traditional agricultural exports, the United States positioned itself as the main one, after making purchases of US$ 2.044 million between January and September 2022, 19.4% more than in the same period of 2021, which represented the 34.6% of our total shipments to the world.

The Netherlands ranked as our second largest consumer, with an amount of US$ 878 million, showing a contraction of -3.6% compared to what was registered in the same period last year, and concentrated 14.9% of shipments in the sector.

Among the exported products that stood out the most in the period of time analyzed we have avocados, blueberries, grapes and fresh asparagus.
