Canadian growers invest $10,000 in St. John Ambulance

Peak of the Market Ltd. is proud to announce an important contribution to St. John Ambulance. St. John Ambulance is part of the world’s oldest charitable organization founded close to 1,000 years ago. In Canada, St. John Ambulance has done important work for nearly 140 years and is committed to serving communities and saving lives. In Manitoba, St. John Ambulance trains over 22,000 Manitobans a year in First Aid and CPR.

Peak of the Market Growers is therefore pleased to provide a $10,000 donation toward its Building on a Caring Tradition capital campaign.
“For growers, community is at the heart of what we do. While our focus is on feeding communities, we are very proud to be able to support others doing this important work. It is a win-win. We are in the fortunate position to help others who, in turn, help those in our community,” said Peter Loewen, chair of the board of directors, Peak of the Market.

“St. John Ambulance is very grateful for this support,” said Brent Fowler, CEO, St. John Ambulance. “The recognition of the work we do sends a message that growers care. Not only do they care about the food they produce, but they are mindful of the connection between the community, its people and the well-being of both. We are very appreciative of this donation.”

Peak of the Market is an inclusive and diverse company driven by a dedicated group of growers and staff that has marketed quality produce for 80 years. It supplies a wide variety of fresh vegetables across Canada and throughout the United States.

St. John Ambulance provides all levels of lifesaving and has over 125 instructors providing this training across Manitoba. Its training and community service impact is, in financial terms, several million dollars a year and in human terms, it’s priceless.
