Irritec: "Drops for a sustainable future"

The future of agriculture from micro-irrigation to digitization

Once again, this year, the Sicilian company Irritec, specialized in precision agriculture, took part in the EIMA International and the international agricultural and gardening machinery exhibition held in Bologna, Italy, from 9 to 13 November, to show how its sustainable and innovative solutions can contribute to responsible water management.

This year Irritec acquired the legal status of a Benefit Corporation, the only company in the industry to have achieved such an important milestone in its journey of growth and improvement and has always been attentive to sustainability issues. An additional and more concrete manifestation of this commitment is the recent ESG funding that has been granted by Unicredit and Crédit Agricole Italia to support ESG activities.

The production and implementation of Irritec's high-tech products, such as interconnected systems, sensors for field parameters, and automated plants, provide the tools to understand the needs of the land and save water resources by promoting their smart use. In addition, a team of expert agronomists is always on hand to help identify the most appropriate design solution for each crop, providing training sessions.

Among the products presented at the Irritec Arena - inside Stand A47 in Hall 22 - was the company's new end-of-line solution, suitable for lightweight Ø16 and Ø22 drip lines. iCircle is the revolutionary circular multi-outlet emitter that, when used in greenhouse irrigation systems, meets the needs of potted crops by ensuring maximum distribution uniformity. In fact, its circular shape makes this sprinkler easy to install due to the easy and quick connection of microtubes, and ideal for homogeneous root development. Irritec held several events dedicated to water-saving awareness with the participation of its experienced and qualified agronomists. 'Drops for a sustainable future' is precisely the message with which the company tells about the benefits that its water management solutions bring to crops and, likewise, to the environment.

Among the scheduled meetings, ‘Innovation and Sustainability for the Agriculture of the Future’ - which took place at the Irritec Arena in the Bologna fairgrounds - was a chance to talk about the future of agriculture and the methods of micro-irrigation, digitization, and the impetus of new generations. A special opportunity to bring concrete evidence of the company's commitment to environmental sustainability with the new data from the Sustainability Report, but also to give voice to farms that have chosen Irritec systems achieving successful results and to present the Company's technological and innovative solutions and support to new generations entering the world of agriculture.

Giulia Giuffré

"We are proud to return to EIMA after a year full of news for Irritec," said Giulia Giuffrè, Board Member and Irritec Sustainability Ambassador, "which confirms that Irritec is a company aware of and committed to sustainability issues. The Irritec Arena is a place open to all our customers and actors in the agrifood supply chain to showcase new products but above all to discuss the best solutions for sustainable water resource management."

Irritec honored at EIMA the winner of the 2022 edition of the Best Agrishot award, the international photography competition dedicated to the agricultural world, which was won this year by Agricolt Brandoni, a company from the Marche region that best excelled under the theme 'Next Generation: the stories of young people in agriculture,' to narrate how the new generations represent the engine for the transformation of the sector in the age of digitalization and sustainability.
