A delegation of Queensland horticultural producers celebrated National Ag Day 2022 in the Netherlands as part of a project funded by the Australian Department of Agriculture.
The delegation included representatives from Queensland based small exporting businesses including Vee Jay’s Kalfresh, Romeos Marketing, SSS Strawberries and Sai Global Marketing together with
Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers and FMC.

Bree Watson, CEO of Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers said, “The delegation in the Netherlands has had the opportunity to meet with a broad range of businesses involved in the import, packaging,
transport, logistics and marketing of horticultural produce throughout the European Union.”
Key highlights for the delegation include high level meetings with Rabobank horticultural analysts, a tour of the North Sea Port and the cargo area of Amsterdam-Schiphol airport, Logistics Business Partners (LBP) and Frutania a fruit and vegetable supply and logistics company based in northern Germany.
“Numerous opportunities have been highlighted during this visit and we will all head back to Australia, crunch the details further, build on the relationships established and move forward with our export
journey into the European Union,” added Ms Watson.

On National Ag Day, the delegation also visited the “World Horti Center” which is a year-round trade fair showcasing knowledge and innovations specific to protected cropping and greenhouse horticulture.
The project and delegation visit to the European Union was made possible thanks to funding from the Package Assisting Small Exporters through the Australian Department of Agriculture and Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers Limited.
