Kultive launches portobello mushrooms that are 100% French and grown without pesticides

Kultive, which specializes in the production and marketing of fresh vegetables, is now launching a new product: the portobello mushroom. “Three producers from the Landes region contacted us to present their project to start growing portobello mushrooms,” explains Alexandre Picault, marketing director of the company.

The Kultive team at Fruit Attraction 2022

Kultive decided to commit to this project because it immediately resonated with the company’s clients. “First of all, we asked our clients if they would be interested in portobello mushrooms, 100% made in France and without any residue of pesticide. They actually really liked the idea so we decided to embark on the adventure.”

95% of the mushrooms will be sold in the fresh sector. They will also be sold to wholesale markets and French supermarkets in a cardboard tray with a plastic film to allow the product to be seen and protected.

Everyone is starting from scratch for this ambitious and motivating project. The first mushrooms will be harvested between the 15th of January and the 15th of March for a production available all year round. Kultive aims to sell 2,500 tons of mushrooms in 2023.
