FEPEX has asked the carriers that will strike in Spain to guarantee free transit and access to national and international markets

"After the transporter's sector announced yesterday that they would hold a new indefinite transport strike starting at the first minute of Monday 14, FEPEX has asked that they guarantee free transit and access to national and international markets, as in November the fruit and vegetable sector markets some 600,000 tons of products per week for a value of 700 million euro."

"600,000 tons of fresh fruit and vegetables are marketed every week of November, two-thirds of which are destined for export. The entire sector grouped in FEPEX is very concerned about the indefinite strike announced because the marketing of these extremely perishable products amounts to 700 million euro per week, and their collection and marketing cannot be postponed."

"The truck is the main means of transporting the fruits and vegetables destined for the national and international markets. 94.1% of the fruits and vegetables that Spain exports are transported by road, and the truck is the main means of transporting them."
