"We hope to expand our apple export market to Southeast Asian countries"

The Luochuan apple, which grows in Luochuan County, Shaanxi Province, is a local specialty. Compared with apples from other producing areas, Luochuan apples are uniform and bright in color. The local climate is characterized by rain and heat in the same period, which is conducive to the expansion of the fruit and ensures the plump and juicy quality of Luochuan apples.

"We have an apple planting base covering an area of 200,000 mu in Luochuan. The important variety is Fuji, and the annual supply capacity is about 300,000 tons. Although there are many extreme climates around the world this year, thanks to advanced facilities and timely precautionary measures taken, our production has not fluctuated significantly compared with last year. The current export price is the same as the same period of previous years." Claire Li from DALIAN SHOCAN TRADING CO., LTD told Freshplaza.

In terms of fruit size, Claire Li said, "Due to climatic factors, we have fewer large fruits this year. Specifically, large fruits account for about 20%, and medium and small fruits account for about 80%. Through traditional wholesale channels and E-commerce platforms, our apples are sold all over China. We also export our apple. In the future, we hope to expand our market to Southeast Asian countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.”
