Now offering IQF organic bananas in addition to fresh bananas

Best known for growing and marketing bananas, Coliman is looking forward to IFPA’s Global Produce & Floral Show later this month. “We’ve been exhibiting at the event for the past 15 years,” says Audee Ríos Canobbio with the company. “North America has always been one of the main export markets for us, so being present at North America’s largest trade show is a great opportunity to meet with our customers.”

Coliman’s banana farms are located near the city of Tecoman in Mexico, in a strategic location. “International connectivity and availability of world class logistics have supported us in leading the export of organic bananas in Mexico.” The company’s commercial centers and distribution centers are located in Mexico, Arizona, and Texas.

It is the first time the company is attending the biggest show in the US after the pandemic. “We are excited to reunite again with partners of the industry.” Ríos Canobbio shares how Covid has changed customers’ behavior towards fresh produce. “With more online shopping, a shift to healthier diets, and more at-home consumption, it will be interesting to exchange ideas and explore new opportunities.”

IQF organic bananas
In response to changing consumer behavior, Coliman has expanded into the Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) segment. “We are now offering IQF organic bananas, in addition to fresh fruit.” First of all, IQF bananas offer the same nutritious value as fresh bananas, but they have a longer shelf life. This significantly reduces waste. In addition, it is a cheaper alternative. In view of a pending recession, consumers are looking for nutritious, but affordable alternatives.

Coliman is looking forward to meeting customers at the booth and exploring opportunities with prospects. On display will be organic as well as organic Fairtrade bananas. Make sure to stop by booth #1655 on October 28 or 29.
