“North America and Europe remain the key export markets”

With growing operations in Peru, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, and Mexico, Camposol has traditionally had a significant export program to the United States. The five products in its portfolio (blueberries, avocados, grapes, mandarins, and mangos) are exported mainly to North America, Europe, and Asia.

In Europe, the company has a commercial office in the Netherlands since 2009. Back in January of this year, Camposol launched an office in Malaga, Spain as a sales, services, and sourcing platform. “Having an office in Southern Europe allows us to provide our customers in the region with the best possible product and service level,” the company said. In addition, Central & Eastern Europe are an interesting area to focus on, although Germany and the UK will remain as principal markets for Camposol in Europe.

Currently, strong route to market capabilities allow Camposol to supply more than 10 countries in Europe, including value-added services like packing and ripening in several countries. “We are very fortunate to supply many retailers in Europe. For more than ten years, our team has been working hard to satisfy their needs, and it is very important for us to continue in that path.” Camposol is convinced this will allow them, together with current and future clients all over Europe, to find the best way to satisfy consumers.

“In the next few years, we expect to produce higher volumes of product from our existing farms and from investments we made in the past few years. We are also on the right track to become a year-round supplier of avocados and blueberries with new blueberry varieties we are certain consumers will love.”

Exports
Will Europe play a bigger role in Camposol’s export program? The distribution of exports has remained at a similar level for several years. On a weekly basis, the changes in demand are being monitored for the three main export regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia. “Monitoring the changes helps us to maintain a good balance in our export program. It is important to maximize returns, but always ensuring that commitments to clients are fulfilled, so they can rely on us to help them grown and satisfy the final consumer.”

Trade show events
October is a busy month from a trade show perspective. Recently, the company participated in Fruit Attraction. “With its constantly high number of visitors, this is a very important event to meet our business partners and promote our products.” The venue and time of year are a good match for many companies in the industry. Camposol had been attending the fair for several years before it decided to participate with its own stand. “This is the second time we had our own booth and this year’s Madrid event was particularly important given we just opened an office in Spain.”

From October 27-29, Camposol will be exhibiting at IFPA’s Global Produce & Floral Show in Orlando. Visit the company at booth #5143.
