Berry marketer highlights its growth

Sun Belle’s offices are abuzz with planning for the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show as it focuses on what makes its brand tick for show attendees at the end of the month. “We are committed to doing the best work we can for our excellent growers, shippers and retail partners, and we do that by being all about customer service, order fulfillment and delivering the best quality berries we can,” says Sun Belle president and founder Janice Honigberg. “We are growing at a rapid pace because our mission remains the same as it was
when we first opened our doors in January 1986.”

To help tell its story, the berry marketer will debut its new video “From Farm to Table: Sun Belle Delivers” at its booth while sampling from its berry line.

The berry marketer will debut its new video “From Farm to Table: Sun Belle Delivers” at its booth while sampling from its berry line at the show.

The line includes:

  • Malu raspberry: This proprietary variety in partnership with Giddings Fruit is a firm, large, beautifully shaped red raspberry with excellent flavor and long shelf life.
  • Amelali blackberry: Another proprietary variety with Giddings, this black beauty is a large, plump berry with a sweet flavor profile.
  • Jumbo blueberry: Currently coming from Peru through January and then from Mexico, these jumbo berries have the size, crunch and flavor that make the perfect combo to wow blueberry fans.
  • Golden berries: A hit with retailers at the SEPC Southern Innovations show in September, and recently featured in a story on Fox5 DC, this sweet, tangy, tropical treat is grown in Colombia and distributed by Sun Belle year-round. Consumer interest continues to peak for this new, exotic superfood.

These are just a few of the delights awaiting tradeshow goers. The company will feature its large array of products in an open and airy booth, which is based on a classic French-covered market. As visitors sample the fruit, they can learn about another key attribute of Sun Belle: its five strategically and geographically located distribution centers. These facilities in Jessup, MD, Schiller Park, IL, Miami, FL, Laredo, TX, and Oxnard, CA allow the marketer to sort, pack and conduct quality inspections of the fruit closer to when it goes in the shopping cart. “This is a key differentiator that sets us apart to ensure the freshest, quality product gets from farm to table,” adds Honigberg.

The Sun Belle team invites all to stop by booth #3659 in Hall B on October 28-29. “We’re excited to see our valued grower and retail partners and take visitors on the journey from farm to table,” says Jennifer Sparks, who recently joined the company as director of marketing and communications.
