Agri exports Peru up 22.9%

Peru's agricultural exports are continuing their upward trend. In the first seven months of this year, said sales totaled US$5.12 billion, which is an increase of 22.9% compared to the same period in 2021.

The products that stood out in the agricultural-exports ranking in said period were avocados, which totaled US$712 million and accounted for 15.6% of total sales, fresh grapes (US$600 million; 13.2%), fresh mangoes (US$208 million; 4.6%), fresh cranberries (US$198 million; 4.3%), and fresh or chilled asparagus (US$151 million; 3.3%).

Between January and July this year, the products that contributed the most to this increase included fresh grapes (31.7%), fresh cranberries (119.6%), crude palm oil (199.4%), tara seed mucilage (149.2%), animal feed (26.7%), ethyl alcohol (72.2%), frozen mangoes (20.0%), palm oil and its fractions (141.4%), other algae (74.0%), and other citrus fruits (15.6%).
