As the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, Top Fruit Club (TFC) released their first exclusive authorized variety - the Charlo™ apple, offering consumers this sweet and touching gift.
One of the club members, Joy Wing Mau Fruit Technologies Corporation, is responsible for the exclusive sales of Charlo™ apples in the domestic market. Relying on the omnichannel sales network that the company has maintained for many years, it is in full swing in domestic online and offline channels to carry out sales and promotion.
This is the first year that Charlo™ apples were launched in China, and it is also the year that witnessed the operation of the TFC model. In September 2020, Joy Wing Mau Fruit Technologies Corporation, Shenzhen SVM Variety Management Co., Ltd., Shandong Salver Group, and Jiangsu Sweet Fruit Co., Ltd., jointly established the TFC. The club aims to jointly introduce foreign advanced fruit varieties and planting technology, and conduct large-scale planting in suitable production areas in China and commercialize them. Shortly after its establishment, TFC officially launched the commercial operation of Charlo™ apples in China and established a demonstration orchard in Yunnan in early 2021. Recently, it has successfully achieved commercial mass production in the first season, with a total of about 45 tons of fruit supplied to the domestic market for sales test.
The Charlo ™ apple is named as PremA280 (PremA280), which is sold under the Charlo™ brand in China. The variety was bred by the Plant and Food Research Institute of New Zealand, and the owner of the variety is Prevar Limited of New Zealand. The fruit is bright red and beautiful, and the coloring area is as high as 90%. It has a sweet and sour taste when it is freshly eaten. It ripens a week earlier than Royal Gala, and the fresh fruit is available in mid-to-late August every year.
