Belgian Conference pears promoted in Brazil

The seventh edition of the Brazil Conference & Expo was held on August 30 in Sao Paolo. This event is aimed at retail buyers, executives, and industry leaders in Brazil's fresh food distribution chain. After the canceled 2020 and 2021 editions, this year, VLAM was present for the fourth time, promoting Belgian Conference pears.

The Belgian promotion team, with Marc Evrard (BFV) and Gert Van Causenbroeck (VLAM) in the middle.

More than 1,500 professionals from different countries attended to make contacts and present (new) products and technologies. There were also seminars where participants could gain new insights into sustainability and the fresh produce market's future. The Belgische Fruitveiling (BFV) presented the Belgian Conference pears.

'A Pera mais famosa da Europa'
VLAM provided a stand where these pears were central. It sported an original campaign concept with the 'Ela se chama Conference' ('Her name is Conference') slogan. Visitors received gift bags, and Conference pears were added to a delicious dessert as part of lunch.

Participating in this trade show is part of a three-year campaign, 80% financed by the EU. This informative, promotional campaign wants to enthuse Brazilians about Belgian Conference pears. It focuses on in-store tastings. Last season (Dec 2021 - May 2022), VLAM organized more than 2,500 tasting days.
