Cambodia: Banana exports down 7 percent in first seven months 2022

Banana exports from Cambodia have dropped in the first seven months of this year; the Ministry of Agriculture has reported a decrease of 7.28 percent. In the first seven months of 2022, Cambodia exported more than 250,000 tons of fresh bananas to international markets, reported the Ministry. More than 220,000 tons of the fruit were exported to China and 24,000 tons were exported to Vietnam.

Unfortunately, banana exports are not the only fruits seeing a decline in exports. Fresh mango exports so far this year has clocked in at 110,000 tons, which is a decrease of 26.84 percent. Exports to Vietnam was at more than 62,000 tons, to Thailand at 27,000 tons, to China at 27,000 tons, 160 tons to Korea and more than two tons to Hong Kong.
