Latvian tomatoes have a particularly productive growing season

Elga Bražune, manager of the "Neslinko" horticultural concern, has stated that several varieties of field tomatoes are enjoying a particularly productive growing season: "I have never seen so productive and such big tomatoes in my life as we have in the field this year, and no care [is needed]."

The tomato expert added that the 'Siberian', 'Belarusian Country', and 'Hungarian Early' varieties are particular beneficiaries of a long, hot summer. Some 300 different varieties of tomatoes can currently be viewed at the tomato exhibition at the Latvian Nature Museum, which runs until August 21.
