Ready-to-eat Campania persimmons offered in snack packs

The agribusiness company based in Campania, Italy, has invested heavily, especially in the V-range segment, making continuous innovation its forte. In these 90 years, the company has grown a great deal, thanks to the work of a team of about 80 employees, in addition to seasonal workers, engaged in the two production plants and who, as in a big family, have contributed to the success of the brand. Innovation and the discovery of new business opportunities saw Domenico De Lucia also break ground in 1987 in the area of flexographic printing of flexible food packaging.

 

The persimmons processed from fresh are dried under very low pressure and low temperature, so they result in good-tasting, appreciable quality. They can be consumed au naturel as a snack, or used for vitamin-rich breakfasts, with natural yogurt, or paired with a mixed vegetable salad.

Persimmons are one of the fruits that best represent the allure of autumn and, especially in the Campania region, are a must-have in the local peasant tradition, just like Vesuvius apricots. They are available in a handy 150 g format in both soft semidry and crispy and then dehydrated versions.

Top products available in a wide range of references and formats also include other steam-processed references, which also come from a traceable supply chain and are highly appreciated. 

With regard to the fresh-cut segment, the company has invested resources in the processed sector as it offers added value to the consumer, with products that last beyond their seasonality, with high-quality safety certified Bioagricert, Brc Food, Brc/Iop. This is in line with the ready-to-eat, quick-consumption health food choices.

With regard to the production of persimmons in Campania, the future production orientation for the fresh product goes toward greater varietal diversification, which is aimed at expanding the commercial calendar on the late segment, also thanks to the long shelf-life that allows this reference to be preserved at least until June.

"We strongly believe in the promotion of traditional typical products of Campania, supported by a demand that appreciates the combination of food/health and territory. We are aware that, in order to obtain a high-quality product, we need to create synergies with producers, as field cultivation needs first and foremost experience and specific technical and agronomic solutions."
