Greece: Customs impound heroin found in banana shipment

According to the Independent Public Revenue Authority, Greek Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle 35 kilograms of heroin hidden in a shipment of bananas into the country. The drugs, contained in 30 packages, were detected using an x-ray machine.

The banana cargo originated in Ecuador and was underway to Thessaloniki.
