From November 24th to 26th, in Mossoró, in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Producers and Exporters Abrafrutas will participate in the largest International Irrigated Tropical Fruits Fair in the country, Expofruit. The event aims to move tropical fruit production in the country through the presentation of solutions for production and logistics, standardization and regulation of production and marketing processes and political actions in the World Trade Forums.
Brazil is the third largest producer of fruit in the world. Exports have reached record numbers, for example in 2020, which surpassed the mark of 1 million ton of fruit shipped to the international market, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year, revenue was 875 million dollars, 3% more that in 2019.
According to the director of the Association, expectations for Expofruit are very positive, the first post-pandemic fair, which would take place last year, was postponed and this has left everyone very excited, as it has already scheduled several visits by customers and importers at the event site and also in the region to get to know the region's Tropical Irrigated Fruit Growing up close.
