Summer Citrus from South Africa to sponsor global reception at Fresh Summit

Though borders in South Africa remain closed due to the pandemic, Summer Citrus from South Africa is happy to take part in this year’s virtual Fresh Summit as a sponsor of the Global Community Reception.

The reception will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 5:45pm – 7:15pm eastern, and will include a combination of group presentations and “Let’s Get Acquainted” breakouts to encourage networking among participants from around the globe.

“With Fresh Summit on a virtual platform this year, we intend to deliver an extraordinary experience offering connections, content, and community,” said Lauren M. Scott, chief marketing officer of PMA. “Thanks to our Global Reception co-sponsors Summer Citrus from South Africa and Sunview Marketing, Fresh Summit guests will have a great opportunity to connect with leaders from across the global produce and floral communities, and we appreciate their support.”

Summer Citrus from South Africa is wrapping up its 2020 season and 21st year serving the U.S. market with peak volume “later Mandarin” varieties and closing the season with the arrival of Midknights.

“It’s been a record year for production and consumption of citrus due to the pandemic. Our united group of growers have worked together to overcome the challenges this year has brought us all and we are proud to be closing the season strong and surrounded by a supportive industry,” said Suhanra Conradie, CEO of Summer Citrus from South Africa. “We are happy to support the global network of suppliers that provide fresh fruits and vegetables to consumers and are extremely happy to show our support through this sponsorship of the reception. We’re excited to have the opportunity to connect with the industry online during this time and participate in fostering meaningful and fruitful relationships.”
