On Saturday, May 16, a shipment with 41 tons of pineapples left the Dominican Republic for Israel. This is the second shipment of a total purchase of 79 tons of this fruit. According to the Israeli embassy in the country and the Dominican Airports XXI Century (Aerodom), the flight of the El Al Israel Airlines arrived in the country loaded with sanitary supplies and left for Israel with the exported fruit, within the framework of the bilateral relations between both countries that include Israeli assistance in the fight against COVID-19.
“This Saturday we received a direct flight from @EL_AL_ISRAEL from Tel Aviv with the purpose of bringing medical devices and collecting 41 tons of pineapples. We remain committed to expanding the Dominican Republic's air connectivity, making it possible for Dominican products to reach more destinations," Aerodom posted on its Twitter account along with a video showing the fruit's entire export process.
Moreover, Israel recently announced its intention to help solve problems related to the management of water resources in Dominican agricultural production.
