China's mushroom industry has been developing rapidly over recent years. Not only are the numbers of mushroom cultivation facilities increasing, but the investment in technologies to improve cultivation techniques and operation efficiency is also growing.
Mr. Zhuo from Chengdu Chien Hoo Yee Trading Co., Ltd. shared his mushroom sales experience: "In the Chinese market, the current sales volume of fresh shiitake mushrooms continues to increase, prices have risen slightly, and consumer demand for dried shiitake mushrooms has remained the same compared with previous years. As far as market competition is concerned, we only face fierce competition from competitors in China, but we're not affected by a particular country in the international market. "
“In terms of production, the growth of shiitake mushrooms this year has not been greatly affected by the weather, and the overall yield is basically the same as last year. Every year, under normal climatic conditions, the harvest season of our shiitake mushrooms begins in October and lasts through to April of the following year. We grow shiitake mushrooms, mainly of the varieties 808 and 9608. These mushrooms are thick in flesh, large in size, and good in taste, so they have gained high popularity in the market. "
"We now have two companies, the first of which was established in 2009, mainly offering shiitake mushrooms and black fungus. Our sales channels are mainly e-commerce and foreign trade companies, including Alibaba (Chinese and English sites), Tmall, and Taobao. Our products are exported to more than a dozen countries, with Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea being our most important destinations. We also export large volumes to North America, Russia, and Europe.”
