Fruit South Africa makes two key board appointments

The board of Fruit South Africa has appointed Justin Chadwick as chairperson and Vangile Titi-Msumza as vice chairperson. Their appointments are effective from 1 April 2019.

These appointments align strategically with the industry's agenda of strengthened partnerships with government, increased market access and real transformation.

Chadwick welcomed the appointment, saying that he appreciates the opportunity to build on the work of Fruit South Africa. As an association of associations Fruit South Africa is fortunate in having strong institutions in all fruit sectors, with good leadership and sound governance. He aims to continue Fruit South Africa's role in uniting these associations to tackle common issues, face joint challenges and take advantage of all opportunities.

Lauding the strong women leadership team at Fruit South Africa, Chadwick highlights CEO, Konanani Liphadzi's role in putting Fruit South Africa on the map through her stakeholder relations. In the same vein, Chadwick noted the value-add of Vangile Titi-Msumza's experience in diplomacy and international trade. With the fruit industry being a key agricultural job creator and foreign exchange earner, Fruit South Africa will continue to focus on inclusive growth.

"It's an honour to serve as vice-chair of this dynamic organisation, representing South Africa's fruit industry," says Titi-Msumza.

Fruit South Africa is a non-profit organisation and the umbrella body representing the Citrus Growers' Association of Southern Africa, the South African Table Grape Industry, Hortgro, the Fresh Producers Exporter Forum and the South African Subtropical Growers’ Association.
