The Netherlands in 9th place of exporting countries globally, Belgium at 10
Netherlands worth 3% of global apple exports
The Netherlands and Belgium come near the bottom of the 10 largest apple exporting countries in the world. In 2016, 6.1 billion Euro worth of apples were exported globally. This is a slight decrease compared to 2012 (-0.4%), but an increase compared to 2015 (+3.1%) reports the NFO.
China
China is the world's largest exporter and worth 20.2 percent of the global export. It is also one of the fastest growing exporters in the world (+51.5% compared to 2012). The European countries together have 38.7 percent of the global apple export. 13.6 percent of the global apple export comes from North America and 7 percent comes from Oceania (New Zealand and Australia).
The fastest growing countries in apple export compared to 2012 are Serbia (+205.8%), Japan (+195.2%) and New Zealand (+67,5%). Despite the Netherlands being quite high on the list, its importance has decreased since 2012 (+29.7%). Other countries where the apple export decreased quite markedly are: Argentina (-37.3%), Austria (-33.6%), Poland (27.5%) and Belgium (17%).
