Fruit grower Bas Feijtel new chairman of The Greenery

On December 17, 2015 Bas Feijtel was appointed the Chairman of the Supervisory Board for The Greenery. Bas Feijtel (48) is an agricultural economist and has been involved with The Greenery since 2009 as board member of Coforta U.A. cooperative and as a member of the Supervisory Board of The Greenery. Bas has a modern fruit cultivation company in Wemeldinge, The Netherlands. He mainly grows and stores pears, with the most important varieties being Conference and Beurre Alexander Lucas. 

Bas has extensive experience in managerial positions both within and outside the agricultural sector. After his study he worked for agricultural interests, his last position was as provincial secretary of the ZLTO in Zeeland, The Netherlands. He also has experience in politics as a member of the Provincial States of Zeeland up until March 2015. He's had supervisory positions at Rabobank, and others, and currently has a supervisory position in a housing corporation.

With the appointment of Feijtel, The Greenery is working hard on the chosen strategy and implementation of the policy; focusing on intense chain cooperation with the retail sector and cost management.
