Above average onion price 2015

The new onion season has started well. The harvest is 10% larger than last season and the prices are still well above last season's prices and the long term average, reports ING. Moreover, by mid-November almost half of the onions had already been delivered, which is also more than last year. Although export is slower. By week 44 the export volume was 3% lower than last year. The top 4 export destinations for onions in the 2014/2015 season (Senegal, Brazil, the U.K. and Ivory Coast) all had a backlog up to week 44.
