Low prices China pomelo crop

In the last few years, Chinese consumers started to appreciate the taste and nutrition of pomelo. As a result, sales volume of pomelo has beenincreasing. Due to an increased supply, however, the price has dropped by around 20%.

Take white pomelo; the average sale price currently hovers around 4.2 Yuan (€0.60) per kg, representing a 16% drop compared to thesame period of last year. Red pomelo is typically a premium variety. Wholesale prices usually keep stable at 9 Yuan per kg. However, this season, increased supply has pulled wholesale prices downto 7.2 Yuan per kg.
