Italy: Fruitimprese foreign trade data first eight month 2015

The data processed by Fruitimprese concerning the first eight months of 2015 reflect the previous months. Both exports (6% in quantity and 11.9% in value) and imports (6.5% in quantity and 21.7% in value) were on the rise. The balance is €366 million, -27.1% with respect to the previous year. In total, Italy exported around 2.62 million tons of produce for €2.785 billion. 

A drop was registered for citrus fruit (-5.2%), vegetables (-1.6%) and dried fruit (-3.9%), while the sign was positive for fresh fruit (+14.3%). For what concerns the value, it was positive for all segments - fresh fruit (+11.6%), vegetables (+13.7%), citrus fruit (+5.3%) and dried fruit (+16.1%).

For what concerns imports, Italy bought around 2.33 million tons of produce for €2.42 billion.

There was an increase in the volume of fresh fruit (+8.8%), vegetables (+3.2%) and citrus fruit (+45.6%) and a drop for dried fruit (-6.2%) and tropical fruit (-3.3%). For what concerns the value, the sign was positive for all segments, especially for citrus fruit (+52.1%) and dried fruit (+38.7%).
