The data processed by Fruitimprese concerning the first eight months of 2015 reflect the previous months. Both exports (6% in quantity and 11.9% in value) and imports (6.5% in quantity and 21.7% in value) were on the rise. The balance is €366 million, -27.1% with respect to the previous year. In total, Italy exported around 2.62 million tons of produce for €2.785 billion.

For what concerns imports, Italy bought around 2.33 million tons of produce for €2.42 billion.
There was an increase in the volume of fresh fruit (+8.8%), vegetables (+3.2%) and citrus fruit (+45.6%) and a drop for dried fruit (-6.2%) and tropical fruit (-3.3%). For what concerns the value, the sign was positive for all segments, especially for citrus fruit (+52.1%) and dried fruit (+38.7%).
