Germany: Availability of apple varieties growing

As before, Germany dominated events with numerous varieties. Above all, Elstar, Boskoop, Royal Gala and Braeburn were brought in. The domestic assortment was rounded off by varieties such as Pinova, Jonagored and Holsteiner Cox, as well as Rubinette, which were not always met with interest however.

All below charts in German:

From Italy mainly came Golden Delicious and Royal Gala; the first Jazz in 56er crates completed in Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, France participated in the business with Red Chief, which have a complementary character.

Spanish fruit was hardly present. The products increasingly came from CA stores, which did not strongly affect prices.

Altogether, availability grew and towered over demand here and there. That is why prices had to be reduced in some places, if they wanted to avoid stockpiling. Price increases were rare: for the Italian batches in Hamburg, they were mostly based on reduced supply. The ratings for French batches in Munich were increased because of an improved quality.
