Aldi wants to build central warehouse in German municipality Wörthsee

The German Aldi concern wants to build a new logistics centre in the German municipality of Wörthsee (Bavaria). The current central warehouse in Eichenau (Bavaria) is becoming too small. The resident of the municipality of Wörthsee will decide on the construction of the central warehouse. On the 9th of February next year they will be able to vote for or against the Aldi logistics centre. The outcome of this vote will be decisive.

The opinions on the building project are divided: some see the profit of ten million Euro created by the sale of the land belonging to the municipality and think of the income from company tax, but the protectors of the environment want the land kept as a nature reserve and fear further building projects.
