Ukraine: Mushrooms sales have slumped

According to mushroom retailers, mushrooms sales in the Ukraine have decreased significantly in the past few weeks. This trend is particularly relevant for the Eastern regions of the country, but the situation in the West is not much better.

Snow and cold weather complicated the transportation of mushrooms to retail outlets and delivery time was increased. The sales volume has fallen on average by 20% - 30% in most wholesale and retail outlets.

Agency "Umdis" also informs about the opposite situation with sales of mushrooms at supermarkets, as bad weather makes people shop at supermarkets rather than at retail outlets or farmers markets.
