Spain: Courgette prices up as result of lower temperatures
Courgette prices this Wednesday surpassed the 2 Euro per kilo in all morning auctions. This is logically good news for the hundreds of growers who lost a good part of their harvest due to the effects of the New Delhi virus.
The low temperatures registered over the past few days, which arrived after one of the warmest autumns on record, have also taken a toll on production volumes, consequently leading to higher prices at origin.
Cold temperatures are one of the best allies for the agricultural sector, as they regulate the production, and in turn, prices. If the weather remains cool, prices are likely to continue increasing.
