As a result a large part of the harvest is lost. Recently we notice that growers are investing more and more and spend money for new techniques, such as storage systems. Consumers are demanding more all the time and expect a good quality of products. Therefore growers will invest more in this kind of thing automatically. The first thing to think of is storage, but there is also a growing interest in transport and sorting systems. Also investment in the production of processed fruit and vegetables, such as chips, increases.
