Freshuelva says Fruit Attraction strengthens market for berries
The Association of Strawberry Producers and Exporters from Huelva, Freshuelva, once again trusts the fruit and vegetables fair, Fruit Attraction, which opened this week in Madrid, to strengthen the consumption of strawberries and berries from Huelva in the domestic market. The Association has attended all four editions of the event, where commercial deals with the most relevant international markets can be sealed. It is the perfect time to do that, as the planting of strawberries in Huelva is currently underway.
Another objective for the sector with its presence at the fair is the re-launching of the rest of the berries, which are gaining more relevance each campaign. Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries increase their market share every season due, especially, to the quality of the fruit and the numerous tested health benefits of their consumption.
Last year's campaign, strawberry exports to European Union countries increased by 20.27% compared to the previous one. This growth has been noteworthy in the case of Germany, where the increase was of 32.57%; in Italy, with 13.36% more; or in the UK, with 11.34% more, among other destinations. Exports to countries outside the European Union have increased by 2.32%.
