UK: Double scoop for Hereford berry grower at National Fruit Show

Herefordshire berry grower Anthony Snell had great success at this year's National Fruit Show. The Berry Garden's grower from Windmill Hill, near Harewood End in Hereford scooped two 1st places.

Mr. Snell from AJ & CI Snell impressed the judges at the show with a fine display of succulent everbearer Driscolls Windsor strawberries, to win the best in class. The strawberries are sold as an exclusive in the ‘Taste the Difference' range from Sainsbury.

The farm then repeated its success by winning the best in class for its Driscolls Maravilla raspberries with second place going to another Berry Gardens' grower, Marion Regan from Hugh Lowe Farms. Mr. Snell was particularly proud to win the raspberry class where it was especially strong with 19 entrants.

Anthony Snell said. "It's been a marvelous day and great reward for everyone at the farm who has put in a tremendous effort in a particularly challenging growing year, but the quality and taste of our berries has continued to go from strength to strength."
