First own grown Brazillian grapes arrive in UK

Univeg Katopé UK are pleased to report the first arrivals of new season grapes direct from Univeg's own farm in Brazil. The first varieties to arrive will be Thompson seedless, Crimson and Sugraone.

Volumes are slightly down on last year due very hot and dry growing conditions in Brazil, according to William Lloyd from the company they expect around 40 containers this season.

Fazenda Europa is one of the largest grape farms in the country covering around 150 hectares. Situated in the São Francisco Valley the farm has its own micro climate and water supply which help produce these grapes.

The farm sells ‘Sunworld’ branded grapes around the globe; varieties such as Sable & Midnight Beauty. Alongside these branded grapes, unbranded varieties are also exported; Crimson, Thompson, Sugraone amongst others.

The main Brazilian grape season runs from October through to January with UNIVEG receiving regular deliveries. For more information see our website www.univeguk.co.uk
