Spain: GlobalG.A.P. asks “ Do you need to G.A.P. Upgrade?”

At its bi-annual conference in Madrid, Spain, this 6-8 November GLOBALG.A.P. The Global Partnership for Safe and Sustainable Agriculture will unveil innovative products and services to support the growing world-wide demand for products produced according to Good Agricultural Practices G.A.P.

GLOBALG.A.P. has developed in addition to its well-known certification program two new categories of standards as well as support services to assist producers in upgrading their Good Agricultural Practices.

“localg.a.p.” is a flexibly designed program to help producers get started on the road to safe and sustainable agriculture and aimed at those supplying emerging national markets such as those in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. The program will be supported with specially designed training by approved providers with low cost assessments to help build in reliable quality management systems to assist producers develop and manage their operations in a proven and efficient way.

“GLOBALG.A.P. + add-ons” provides the producer with the opportunity to add-on additional requirements for verification such as supplementary criteria for responsible water use and without the need for additional audits.

The GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT2012 provides a unique chance to network with retailers leading producers and farm consultants to get to know how these new products and services will open up exciting new business opportunities in both emerging and developed supply chains around the world.

The SUMMIT program is designed to provide both market information and how traceability, food safety and sustainability can be implemented in proven ways so that local and world-wide consumer needs can be met for high quality agricultural products.
