Until recently the mango market was just peachy (pun not intended) but now that Brazil and Israel are gathering steam, prices are dropping fast. According to Ive Lambert of Starfruit “there was a shortage of Tommy’s two weeks ago and prices were high, but now they have dropped to 1.5 Euro.”
“Fact is, the market is just flooded, and this of course affects price ranges. Last year was another story, back then prices were up all season long. But now they might go down even more. Traders just don’t know where to leave incoming containers. Brazil is engulfing us with their stock.”
