"Lisan van Koppen, 4 Fruit Company: "Available till middle of October"

4 Fruit Company distributor new Spanish grape variety

4 fruit Company from Ridderkerk has become distributor of a new Spanish grape variety. "Officially the grape does not have a name as yet - code 222/2 - but at our shipper they call the grape Maxima Seedless" Lisan van Koppen tells. "It is a red seedless grape, which as far as colour is concerned looks like Red Globe, but the shape is a bit more oval."

"This variety is rather coarse for a seedless grape (24/27 cm). The brix of the grape is 19/20 and it is expected that the brix level will increase slightly. The bunches are large of 1,7 kg on average, as a result of which they would not fit into carry bags" Lisan continues. The grapes will be available till the middle of October. As this is the first year only 3,000 to 4,000 kg will arrive. Next year there will absolutely be more. The grapes are packed in 5 kg boxes and 170 pp."

4 Fruit receives all Spanish seedless grapes under hallmark 100% Amaya. This hallmark guarantees high quality and constant supplies. Normally speaking we supply these grapes in 4,5 kg packing with gas cover, except with this new variety. We started with 100% Amaya-grapes in the middle of July with Crimson / Autumn and Superior Seedless. We also had some Flame and red globe (with seed) and Crimson is almost at the end. "

Light Crimson

"Crimson has been on the market already since July and is now almost finished. We have now already received the first pallet light Crimson (because of the heat)" Lisan concludes. "The Crimson, which could almost be called bi-colour, is actually tasting better than the real Crimson. Nicer bite, high brix, but it does not look as good!"
