Brazil: Bahia will export mangoes to US

The export of mangoes from Bahia (Brazil) to the United States was announced after the publication of the Instruction Regulations, which validates the risk mitigation system for fruit flies, for the cultivation of mangoes in the municipalities of Abare, Casa Nova, Curaçá, Juazeiro, Sento Sé, Dom Basilio, Livramento of Nossa Senhora and Sobradinho. With the publication of the IN, the expectation is to increase the production of mango in the region, which is considered the second pole of production of Bahia.

"The benefit is for the farmer, who will put the quality of Brazilian products in the international market, ensuring the consumption of healthy fruits for the consumer," said the Secretary of State for Agriculture, Eduardo Salles.
