Netherlands: Staay Food Group announces merger

Staay Food Group announces herewith to merge van der Staay Barendrecht and Hispa Fruit into one company, effective from the start of 2013. This creates a single sales and marketing organisation with a broad sourcing base covering the group’s own production and outside sources. The benefits of this larger scale, says a press release on the move, will result in an optimisation of the quality of both product and organisation.

The Hispa fruit and Van der Staay Barendrecht sites will both be retained. Whereby we are investigating the possibilities of locating the sales department at the current Hispa site, in which case the facilitating departments will be concentrated at the current Van der Staay Barendrecht premises. Staay Food Group does not envisage any job losses in the process.

The other companies within the Staay Food Group will make use of the integrated sourcing and marketing.
