"Jan Willem Tolhoek: "Relaunch not being discussed"
Mundo Fresh declared bankrupt
Fruit and vegetable company Mundo Fresh went bankrupt this week. The Vleunten company was founded in 2008 and there were four people working at the company. Relaunching Mundo Fresh is out of the question. According to Jan Willem Tolhoek the bankruptcy had multiple causes. "The general economic situation, but also the changes in the fruit and vegetable market have had their influence. Besides this we had a lot of quality problems and claims in our market segment. Unfortunately we have also had a lot of customers who went bankrupt and customers who didn't pay."
"The EHEC crisis was perhaps the last drop. It cost us a lot of money, mainly due to loads that were sent back and then a huge decrease in turnover in the summer of 2011," continues Jan Willem. "We were hoping we'd come out on top, but we didn't. We have made our suppliers a creditors proposal, which would run until Saturday. We almost had an agreement in this, but one of the creditors wouldn't do this, filed for bankruptcy and enforced it."
