Total Cherry exclusive agreement

The UK cherry industry is set for a major boost following an agreement with Total Cherry and Okanagan Plant Improvement Corp, Canada for the sole license for production in the UK & Ireland of Staccato cherry, and marketing of the said fruit.

This renowned late producing variety, with its exceptional and unique characteristics, will bring delight to growers and consumers alike. As part of the agreement, notice has been served, through an industry advertisement, to announce this exclusivity, and only plantings, in the agreed area of production, authorised by Total Cherry are legal.

Total Cherry Director, Jon Clark, expressed his delight at the agreement being signed saying, “we are delighted to have made this agreement with Okanagan Plant Improvement Corp and look forward to the complete roll out of the agreement and being able to give growers and consumers the latest producing cherry that can be grown in the UK.” Okanagan Plant Improvement Corp General Manager & CEO, John Kingsmill added “We are happy to announce this latest license agreement and are very pleased to be partnering with Total Cherry, a business unit of the UK’s pre-eminent fresh produce supplier.”
