Migros want to import direct from India

The Swiss supermarket chain Migros have, according to a publication in the media, decided to open an office in the Indian town of New Delhi in order to import products without an intermediary in India.

"In this way Migros follow the tradition of founder Gottlieb Duttweiler, who always wanted the eliminate the intermediate track in favour of lower selling prices," as is mentioned also in the media announcement. Migros has had its own buying offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai since 1995 and a quality control bureau in Shenzhen.

The opening of the office in New Delhi has been planned for March 2013.
