The Government Commission of FEPEX (The Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants) convened today in Madrid to determine its position regarding the revisions made by the EU. The upcoming revisions concern the Fresh Produce sector.
FEPEX will analyse the possible options brought forward by the EU.
The EU started revising agricultural policies in June in two stages. The first stage is an exploratory phase in which the EU is outlining existing legislation and new proposals. This stage ends September 9. The second stage ends in May of 2013 and will result in a final report on upcoming revisions. The revisions are due in 2014.
FEPEX will also look at other proposals, like the reform of CAP. FEPEX’ commission consists of several Federation executives and is headed by the chairman of FEPEX, Jorge Brotons.
