One in three Italians goes shopping in discount stores: +3.9%

Due to the economic crisis, nearly one in three Italians (29%) increased their number of visits to discount stores, which, with a record increase of 3.9%, showed a boom in the food industry. This has emerged from a Coldiretti / SWG analysis on the publication of data on retail trade, in June.

The percentage of Italians that, due to the economic difficulties have to save money on food, is on the rise - Coldiretti underlines - saving over a certain limit on food, however, may mean - warns Coldiretti - eating poor quality food, with negative effects on nutritional health and well-being.
