Netherlands: Frankort & Koning widens cooperation

After the successful winter campaign 2011/2012, Frankort & Koning will increase its "cross docking activities" this coming season. The company established several new partnerships with Spanish, Moroccan and Egyptian producers, which enables them to collect the full assortment for their European clients.

Especially, they say, their Scandinavian partners are recognizing more and more the service that can be provided from the Venlo facilities. Flexible opening hours, cross-docking services and storage facilities combined, guarantee, they say, full service to clients and transport companies.

And these transport companies are more and more convinced that loading in Venlo has several advantages compared to other loading places. Jan de Waal from ST Europe is actually cooperating strongly with F&K on the transport towards Scandinavia, and now even opened own storage facilities in Venlo. Venlo as a hub for both trading and logistics in fruit and vegetables has been developing rapidly in recent years. And now, after the successful trials with the barge terminal in the port of Venlo, the number of containers handled with imported fruit from the Rotterdam port will only increase at F&K facilities in Venlo.
