In July 2012, the value of agricultural exports to Mexico grew at an annual rate of 12.5 percent, representing 636.6 million dollars.
According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), from January to July of this year, agricultural exports represent a cumulative growth of 10.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2012, with a commercial value of 7,128.5 million.
In the seventh month the most demanded products were mangoes (55.2%) and avocados (15.6%).
It is worth pointing out that food exports (including agricultural and agroindustrial) exceeded 12,500 million dollars in the first half of 2012, this means an increase of 4.31 percent over the same period of last year.
The Secretariat for Food and Competitiveness and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) noted that during the first half of the year, agribusiness exports contributed with 48 percent of the total market value of exported food products, representing 6,021 million dollars.
