Migros test container transport by train

The Swiss retailer Migros has shown an interest in a railway link between China and Europe. In cooperation with the Chinese railways, container company CRIMT and the railway service supplier Interrail in St.Gallen. Migros have sent the first container from Shanghai to Switzerland. The container travelled more than 12,000 kilometres and came through five countries (Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany). The travelling time was slightly more than 40 days, as mentioned by Interrail.
 
According to Interrail the transport went well. The first test is completed with this. A second test container will leave for Europe by train during the next few days.
