Brazil: High prices for table grapes in the domestic market

Due to Brazil's strong economy and high demand for table grapes, its price, like that of other fruit, is very good in the domestic market. Currently, producers are very satisfied because the price per kilo of table grapes is USD 1.50 net in Brazil. For this reason, many producers prefer to allocate their fruit in the same market in Brazil, where, with a much simpler logistics they can obtain better profit margins than those exporting.

By contrast, André Briso of Agropar, says the mango industry has been affected. In the last two weeks mango prices have dropped significantly in both the domestic market of Brazil and Europe, going from USD 0.40 per kilo to USD 0.25. For this reason, both mango producers and exporters, are not having the best time of the
season.

On the other hand, in Brazil the export melon campaign has begun and producers have very high expectations and hope to have a very good campaign.
